Would you like more joy in your life? I would. Since I’ve learned about joy triggers, I have been finding moments of joy in these crazy last few months. It doesn’t fix everything, but it does make everything a little more bearable.

A few years ago, Ariana Huffington talked about “Joy Triggers”. A simple method she used to bring a little more joy and happiness into her days.
A “Joy Trigger” is when you take time to notice something that brings you joy no matter how large or small it is.

“It’s not enough to be productive. It’s not enough to be successful. I need my joy triggers. Joy triggers are not rational. Bring them into your daily life, because I really believe that it’s all a part of how we can bring balance into our life—getting joy from simple but beautiful things.”

Some of the things that have been bringing me joy recently are:
– Hot coffee in the morning
– When my black cat is frisky (he thinks he’s so fierce and it’s adorable)
– Opening the house windows to enjoy the fresh air
– A clean kitchen sink

For the next 7 days, when something brings you joy, either write it down or post about it on social media, try to find a minimum of 2 things every day. Next time you’re having a bad day, look back at your joy triggers and if you can, try doing one of the items on your list.
